Chapter 1263 - 76: Diary_2
Bologue did not hesitate at all. He spun around and dashed towards Furya like a hurricane, easily grabbing her and moving forward with her.The slowly closing pathway halted for a moment. A fervent ether reaction surged behind Bologue as the fallen security personnel stood up again. Pure ether conjured brilliant spears of light in mid-air.
They acted to strike, and then dozens of brilliant spears of light trailed like meteors descending with fiery tails.
The intense light engulfed the corridor, and Bologue felt a wave of heat licking at his back. The Deceitful Snake Scale Liquid formed a Rhombus Shield, blocking most of the spears, but a few still managed to catch up with him.
Leaving glowing beacons on the ground, the deafening explosions and Ethereal Shock violently repeated. Bologue pushed himself to the limit, reaching the edge of the main lab, just as the surrounding walls closed in with a slam, shutting the door behind him, leaving only a very narrow rift.
Bologue turned his head, and he hallucinated hearing the security personnel making mocking laughter. Then they all parted, disappearing into a haze of white light.
"Run... hurry, Bologue!"
Furya suddenly shrieked, her face pale, eyes full of terror, her body trembling uncontrollably.
"Where does the danger come from?"
Bologue asked as more Rhombus Shields materialized, surrounding the two of them.
Furya desperately shook her head.
"Everywhere."
A high-pitched sound, like water music, rang out, and then a warmth enveloped Bologue.
From the hazy light, a blinding beam was unleashed, containing numerous faint blue electric sparks within, as if forming an arc of pure ether. It silently released, then contacted matter.
Everything perished.
The field seemed to ignite, the light blinding. The power released by the hazy light inevitably caused the surrounding matter to suffer incineration, melting, and penetration.
All matter seemed thrown into a gigantic furnace, with metal and rock melting instantly, as if devoured by the Power of Destruction, while the air compressed to its limit, emitting violent explosive sounds.
The high-temperature environment made the air shimmer with heat, creating a distorted visual effect, as if time and space had been completely overturned in that instant.
Bologue merely took a breath, and he felt as if his throat and both lungs had been burned to ashes. All the parts of his body touched by the light turned into blackened charcoal.
Yet Bologue still managed to swing a crucial stroke before total oblivion.
A shadowy blue sword streaked past, opening the Curved Pathway Rift through to the main lab.
"Go quickly!"
Before the light could spread, Bologue kicked Furya into the Curved Pathway Rift. In the next moment, his vision was first pure blazing white, then extinguished, reduced to absolute pitch black.
Bologue, relying purely on inertia, crashed forward. After a sensation of his body being detached, he too passed through the Curved Pathway Rift, collapsing onto the cold, hard ground.
At this moment, Bologue resembled a corpse freshly burned, his body emitting waves of scorching heat. His eyes had melted, and his eardrums pierced long ago. Thankfully, several seconds later, his lenses began to regenerate, his vision growing blurry.
Struggling to his feet, Bologue attempted to call out for Furya, deeply concerned for this poor soul. Unlike himself, an Undead who could withstand the lethal intense light, Furya couldn’t survive even a trace of the Light of Destruction.
The thought nearly pierced through Bologue’s sanity with guilt. For so many years, she’d struggled hard to survive without incident, yet in mere hours with him, she’d fallen into a death trap.
Suddenly, a comforting voice broke out.
"Bologue?"
The voice was clear. It seemed that Furya’s airways remained unscathed, but her tone revealed her fear, panic, and a bit of... bewilderment.
Bologue painfully rubbed his eyes and vigorously blinked. His sight finally restored, and he immediately spotted Furya sitting on the ground.
Furya also lifted her head to look at Bologue. From the outside, she appeared unharmed, just lightly singed clothes and numerous burned documents scattered like waste paper, but compared to life, these hardly mattered.
"Are you hurt?" Bologue asked.
"Got cut by the shrapnel, but it’s nothing serious."
Furya took off her coat, wrapping it around her arm to cover the wound. Bologue noted the evasive look in Furya’s glance, perhaps shy, or something else.
The situation was dire, and Bologue didn’t have the luxury to ponder such concerns.
He turned to examine the sealed wall, feeling its warmth as his ear pressed against it, letting his Ethereal Perception expand. Beyond the wall, Bologue vaguely sensed several ether reactions.
It was the security personnel, possessing some level of consciousness and logical ability, but their intelligence was still relatively weak, unable to process overly complex information.
In their perception, Bologue had vanished into thin air, leaving them aimlessly stagnant. Normally, they would disperse after a period of alert, but this time the hazy light has descended, serving as their central nervous system, possessing intelligence evidently surpassing theirs.
