Chapter 15 The Sealed Cave
Chapter 15 The Sealed Cave
After drinking three bowls of offal soup, Li Mosi came to a conclusion.
The saintess has good elasticity.
After just one day of starvation, his cheeks were as gaunt as those in a comic book.
After three bowls of offal soup, he recovered in a short time.
"ge—go—pfft! Guh. Cough cough cough, vomit."
Li Mosi pulled the hollow vine out of the saintess's mouth.
It was quite a commotion, but thankfully she didn't vomit.
He just gagged a few times.
Looking again, the saintess's cheeks were as full as they had been yesterday.
"You heretic... ugh!"
The saintess's eyes were red and tears were streaming down her face. Her voice had become hoarse, and she still couldn't say anything kind.
Li Mosi once again stuffed the vines into her mouth.
He found it rather strange: "Besides heresy, you have nothing else to say?"
"Hmm!"
The saintess responded, but Li Mosi ignored it.
He simply couldn't understand this woman's way of thinking.
In the original owner's memories, the religious atmosphere around her was not particularly strong; what everyone cared about most was food.
This aligns well with Li Moss's thinking.
But this saintess is clearly not like that.
Although I don't know what she was thinking, she's acting like an old woman now, breathing out warm air all the time.
We can't communicate properly.
We're not short of food right now, but to avoid dying from unknown area-of-effect attacks or mechanics, we can only carry it along for now.
He turned around and went back to the dining area to continue eating.
Li Mosi, Zi Yi, and the old goblin can eat first, while the other goblins have to wait patiently for the meat to be cut open and thrown in to cook.
They are currently busy repairing the stone spears.
Li Mosi glanced at the wild boar that had been butchered.
At the time, the wild boar looked quite large, but after removing the head, hooves, and other difficult-to-process parts, as well as the bones, fat, and injured or contaminated areas, only about one-third of the meat was actually edible.
Li Mosi counted again; the entire group had 52 goblins, plus Zi Yi and the old goblin, making 54.
This amount of meat is only enough for the goblin to eat for four meals if he is frugal.
He looked at Ziyi and asked, "How much food have you stored?"
Zi Yi thought for a moment before answering, "Not counting the meat, it's enough for about five meals."
This is only because the trolls scattered the tribe; otherwise, the remaining emergency food wouldn't have lasted until now.
very tight.
But there is still time to think.
Li Mosi opened the [Leshanshui] map again, but this time she did not find any noteworthy traces.
There were only the paths of squirrels and birds, and the footprints and hoofprints of a few large wild animals.
Just as the old goblin said, all the worthwhile beasts have been hunted long ago.
If large carnivorous beasts cannot find prey and are unwilling to provoke such a large goblin colony, they will naturally migrate away.
Do we have to go even further to hunt?
Li Mosi couldn't make up her mind for a moment.
Since things have come to this, let Ziyi practice archery first.
The goblins also have a certain order when they eat, though not as solemnly as when they are not dividing blood.
The old goblin distributes the food, and everyone else lines up one by one, not allowed to snatch it.
After finishing their meal, the goblins each found a place to rest.
They lay scattered on the ground, looking like shrubs from a distance.
Only Zi Yi was practicing archery.
This time, Li Mosi and Zi Yi moved the saintess and the training haystacks to a location on the north side of the gentle slope, which is an open space further north of the ruins.
Li Mosi looked around at the scenery, hoping to use [Joyful Mountains and Waters] to find more traces of wild animals for hunting, and occasionally corrected Zi Yi's archery posture.
He noticed that there was also a cave in this northern location.
The cave was blocked by loose rocks.
The gravel was of uniform size, and the target was clear.
Li Mosi asked his disciple directly, "Why is this cave blocked up?"
Zi Yi was resting at the time, and turned her head to look in the direction Li Mosi was pointing.
He answered, "This used to be a stinking hole, a place where people defecated and urinated. Later, a group of hairless rats with wings moved in, and they would bite people. Unfortunately, there was a small hole inside the hole that only they could enter and exit, and we couldn't deal with it. So the hole was sealed up. Fortunately, there's another small hole with a pit on the south side, which is now used as a stinking hole."
As Zi Yi spoke, Li Mosi's brows furrowed more and more tightly.
What is all this about?
It's absurd that goblins would defecate in groups.
But he was even more certain that there was no such incredibly powerful rat in the original owner's memories.
Mice that can dig holes are already a nightmare, let alone fly!
And if it were really a rat, would these pebbles be enough to stop it?
Li Moss pressed on, "What did that rat look like?"
"Let me think, they're hanging upside down from the cave ceiling..."
Zi Yi looked thoughtful, but Li Mosi interrupted him.
Is that right?
Li Mosi drew a simple bat on the ground, showing its outstretched wings and upside down.
Zi Yi pointed at the bat and said, "Yes, that's right."
Li Moss breathed a sigh of relief: "Are they aggressive?"
"Not strong." Zi Yi shook his head. "That was last autumn. I was taking a dump when they bit my butt, and the leader ordered the hole to be sealed up."
How come nothing happened after being bitten?
It's been under lockdown for a year already?
Could the excrement inside the cave be used as fertilizer?
Although Li Mosi had done farm work, he had never personally made farmyard manure.
However, the soil on that gentle slope is already compacted; if it can't be saved, we can just abandon it.
If we can save them, even just a little bit, at least we'll have bean leaves to eat before winter comes.
Moreover, agriculture means a stable food supply.
This can slightly enhance the goblin's cohesion.
Li Moss asked, "Did you know that manure can make soil fertile?"
"what?"
Zi Yi shook his head.
"Master, that dirty stuff... doesn't it cause grass to wither? How can it make the soil fertile?"
It seems this tribe has summarized some experience, but not much.
"That's because you didn't add water."
Li Mosi began to lead the conversation to Zi Yi.
"Think about it, you plant seeds, and those seeds bear many times more fruit. Aren't you taking something from the land?"
Zi Yi looked thoughtful: "Hmm."
Li Mosi continued, "Land is also finite. If too much is taken from you, won't we be unable to give you anything in return?"
Zi Yi seemed to realize what was going on: "That's how it is."
How can you give anything if you haven't gained anything?
But he felt something was off: "Poop and pee are so dirty, does the land really need them?"
He believed his former teacher's words, but he also believed what his former leader had taught him.
Now, two pieces of knowledge are fighting in his mind.
Li Mosi saw through the internal struggle in his disciple's mind.
He began to teach, "Don't try to understand everything based on your direct feelings. These things may seem dirty to us, but aren't there insects that can appear in them? You need to understand through observation."
"My teacher is right."
Li Mosi and Zi Yi turned their heads together.
The old goblin appeared out of nowhere.
He bowed to Li Mosi and said, "Master, please try to get us some extra food."
Judging from Zi Yi's expression, he was still thinking.
But he also said, "Shall I try it first? I feel a little dizzy, Master."
Li Moss picked up the stone spear he always carried with him. Although this goblin-sized spear was only a short spear to him, it would still come in handy later.
He then pulled up the saintess who was sleeping on the ground and dragged her aside.
"Hmm?"
In her daze, the saintess saw three people clinging to the rock wall, standing beside a pile of rubble.
Li Mosi stretched out a wooden pole and poked open the top of the pile of rubble in a few quick movements.
A few minutes later, he was somewhat surprised.
"Doesn't it smell?"
