Chapter 88 Bewitchment
The goddess's ability to conceal herself was indeed powerful. Ms. M had no idea what happened last night. After Lu Ze's initial worries were relieved, he was overcome with sleepiness.
"Cecilia, I'm going to take a nap," Luze said with a yawn, feeling incredibly nostalgic for his bed. "Don't wake me before lunch." He turned and went upstairs to his bedroom, took off his coat, climbed into bed, and quickly fell asleep.
Downstairs in the living room, Ms. M's eyes followed Lu Ze the whole time until he went into his room and closed the door.
Where were we?
She then looked away and asked Cecilia with a smile.
"You just said that I can also become an extraordinary one."
Cecilia said cautiously and politely.
Horrible and bizarre visions filled Luze's dreams.
He dreamt of calamity befalling the world, of all people suffering terribly. Disease raged, pain was rampant, fire rained down from the sky, blizzards and floods raged... People cried out in despair, facing their end.
Above the blood-rust sky lay a chaos beyond description. Each of its tentacles was like a colossal serpent capable of devouring heaven and earth; with each opening and closing of its mouth, endless calamities descended upon the world.
In his dream, Lu Ze felt utterly helpless. He could only hold his sister's hand and desperately run towards safety.
After running for an unknown amount of time, light finally appeared before their eyes.
Great, Cecilia, we're saved!
He turned around in surprise, wanting to share his joy with his sister, only to be horrified to see that he was holding only a severed hand and a piece of wrist in his hand...
"what!"
Lu Ze exclaimed in surprise and jumped out of bed.
He was panting heavily, looked around, and finally recognized his bedroom.
"...Was it a nightmare?"
Feeling cold sweat trickling down his forehead, he muttered to himself unconsciously.
The last time I had a nightmare was the night I was attacked by Hainas... No, according to this logic, this is definitely not a simple nightmare! This is my spirit warning me!
He suddenly realized that the last time he had a nightmare was before the attack, and this nightmare seemed to have the same meaning.
What's in my dreams? Disasters, and my sister being murdered...:
Have I forgotten something?
Lu Ze thought carefully, then suddenly had a jolt.
He was extremely tired when he came in, his remaining energy focused on guarding against Ms. M, and he forgot to pay attention to Cecilia. She had spent the night alone with that crazy woman, and when he came in, they were both sitting on the sofa. What were they doing? Chatting?
She wouldn't instill anything dangerous in my sister, would she?
Thinking of this, Lu Ze didn't care about anything else, immediately got up, put on a coat, and hurriedly ran downstairs.
As he expected, Ms. M and Cecilia were both sitting on the sofa. Ms. M seemed to be explaining something to her sister, but when they heard Luzer's movement, they stopped and looked at him.
"Lu Ze, what's wrong?"
Cecilia noticed his unusual behavior and asked in surprise,
Lu Ze didn't speak, but instead walked over and pulled his sister behind him, looking at Ms. M warily. "What do you want to do to my sister?"
Ms. M smiled, seemingly not understanding Lu Ze's words, and tilted her head slightly, her long, glossy, blood-red hair cascading smoothly from her shoulders. Such a gesture from a mature and beautiful woman was alluring and captivating. But Lu Ze only saw her as a venomous snake flicking its tongue.
"I'm just teaching your sister some basic occult knowledge."
Ms. M calmly explained, "To fulfill the obligations you, as the older brother, have failed to fulfill, and to help your younger sister understand the real world."
Cecilia and Luze went through extraordinary events together and know that her brother and the people from Blackthorn Security Company have some peculiar abilities.
However, due to confidentiality agreements and the desire not to worry his sister, Lu Ze did not tell her the specific details.
Luze turned around and glanced at Cecilia.
Cecilia understood him perfectly and immediately grasped his meaning. She leaned close to his ear and whispered back what Ms. M had taught her. It was mostly basic stuff like potions, sequences, and professions.
"What are you trying to achieve by saying these things to Cecilia?"
Lu Ze breathed a sigh of relief, but was also somewhat puzzled.
"Because I feel it's unfair for your sister."
Ms. M laughed, giving an unbelievable answer: "You, as the older brother, have become an extraordinary being, gaining extraordinary abilities. But your sister can only follow behind her brother, a supporting character looking up to you, cheering and applauding you, serving you like a servant..."
"I never thought of it that way!"
Upon hearing Ms. M's words, Cecilia was first surprised, then became angry. "You have no idea what kind of person my brother is, or what kind of days we spent together. Stop making wild guesses!"
"I see. I'm sorry."
Ms. M wasn't angry at being refuted; instead, she smiled and continued, "But you do have a longing for the extraordinary world, right?"
Cecilia pursed her lips but did not answer.
Lu Ze couldn't help but glance at his sister.
Yes, it's normal for anyone to want extraordinary abilities, and it's completely understandable that Cecilia would have similar thoughts. It was his oversight as the older brother that he failed to tell his sister about the dangers and madness of the extraordinary world.
"I'm sorry, Cecilia."
He said softly, "I just want you to have a more stable life. I haven't told you these things before. Of course, you can choose this kind of life. But you don't need to rely on her. You can join the Night Watchers. It's much better for us to be official Extraordinary beings with dignity... Don't listen to any of this crazy woman's nonsense."
"I'm sorry, brother."
Cecilia looked like she was about to cry, her beautiful eyes misting over. "I just wanted to help you. I was trying to test her, to get information out of her, not what she said..."
"It's okay."
What else could Lu Ze say but comfort his sister? He understood her anxiety and eagerness to change the situation. She didn't know what had happened to Lu Ze last night. "Trust me, things will be resolved soon."
He glanced at his watch; it was almost eleven o'clock. Although still a little tired, he had no desire to sleep anymore. Instead, he took Cecilia into the kitchen and began preparing lunch.
He left Ms. M on the sofa, and Ms. M didn't react much. Instead, she waited patiently until the food was served, at which point she naturally sat down at the table.
Lu Ze ignored her and continued eating.
"By the way, regarding yesterday's mass death case, would you like me to provide some clues?"
At this moment, Ms. M suddenly seemed to remember something and asked, "I can give you a hint: this matter is related to the witch."
Witch?
Lu Ze paused for a moment as he reached for the bread.
