Chapter 1085 Balance of the Origin
1085 Balance of the Origin
Michael didn't know what was going on when the weave stirred, but he noticed a subtle change in his surroundings.
The weave breached the defenses created by the Gods and attacked him. No, that wasn't the right word. It didn't attack him. The weave was trying to tell him something.
It consumed a shocking amount of Essence to breach the defenses and invade the Beginning with a stream of golden glowing Essences. Michael noticed the breach first and was about to call out when he noticed that the breach had been repaired...by the will. Instead of breaking through the defenses of the Gods once and for all to flood the Beginning with its Essence, the weave blocked itself. It ensured the Beginning wouldn't contain more Essence than necessary. Necessary for what? That was something Michael had yet to find out.
The golden glowing Essences created by the weave were the solution. Or so Michael hoped. Gluvos was the first Primal to notice the highly compressed Essences whirling through the wide-open space. His expression was filled with glee as he reached out for it.
"The weave hasn't abandoned us! Let's get rid of this piece of shi—..." The Primal's voice died down as something unexpected happened. The golden Essences created to aid the Primal – or so they thought – passed through Gluvos. They slipped through the Primal and impacted Michael's forehead with shocking velocity. The stream of Essences was fast enough to take Michael by surprise, and it took enormous willpower not to do anything. He could have avoided the Essences but didn't do it because he felt the good intentions of the weave.
The golden Essence struck Michael and pulled him somewhere. Meanwhile, his body continued fighting as if everything was normal. His attack pattern didn't change much, but that wasn't necessary. The Primal were too confused about the weave's sudden actions and feared being betrayed again.
The same fear they had buried around the Beginning resurfaced after eons. It filled them to the brim and forced them to retreat. Three Primal turned around to flee. They were ready to sacrifice their brothers and sisters to survive, only to end up in a battle against Hel, Fenrir, Jormungandr, Sleipnir, and other Major Gods.
The Primal were at a numerical disadvantage and didn't have much access to the weave. If anything, they didn't dare to access the weave, fearing something bad would happen like it did the last time.
Just like the incident when the Expanse and the Weave separated.
Michael was dumbfounded at the massive flood of information he acquired through mere pictures, but he should have expected it. He still missed some intel to know every little detail of what had happened, yet Michael didn't have to know everything to understand what he had to do.
The aftermath of the Void Call had been cleansed and the mistake of the Will had been removed with Michael's help.
The Will's mistake was also related to the creation of the Void in the ORigin Expanse. Instead of perfectly sealing the power of the void creatures who'd invaded the Origin Universe, the Will had been forced to create a space where the void power could reside. The same power had drained the Will's Essence, yet it didn't affect Michael.
That was important to know, but it wasn't crucial for the following two factors.
First, the Primal could be treated. Only half of their existence was evil. They needed the pristine Essence of the expanse to return to their rightful spot as the Guardians of the Origin Expanse. After all, that was what the Origin had created them for. To guard all beings of the Creation.
But doing so was difficult. Michael wouldn't have bothered thinking about the possibility of rescuing the Primal if not for one factor.
The weave wasn't certain that an incident like the last Void Call wouldn't repeat itself.
What if it happened again and the Primal weren't present? Could he handle problems like the Void Call alone? The Will's memories of the Void Call surfaced in the worst possible moment and Michael's confident plummeted.
The Primal had been created for this purpose. Michael, on the other hand, wasn't made to deal with the power of the void. He would die. That was a fact.
'Fuck this shit! Why the hell do I have to save them?!'
