Chapter 2230-2.228 Mori Thong
The "Snow Queen's Ice Crystal Waltz" by the eldest consort Xing Xiaolu, the "Blood Queen's Thorn Waltz" by the second consort Qin Hong, and the "Night Queen's Moonlight Waltz" by the fourth consort Xu Jingshan, along with the "Snake Eye Chrysanthemum" by the eldest consort Xing Xiaolu, the "Snakeberry" by the second consort Qin Hong, and the "Large-flowered Snake Whip Pillar Flower" by the fourth consort Xu Jingshan, bloomed in succession around the Bizenya Karabusa ship in the vast fog.
Under the ultimate control of the supercomputing power of the "Super Brain Blockchain", the "Snake Kiss Ray Matrix" shredded the bull-headed giant spiders scattered all over the deck without any resistance.
If she hadn't intentionally avoided the 330-meter-long tail, the wet woman would have certainly met a fate of either death or serious injury!
"Huh?" The giant bull-headed spider, shredded by the snake-kiss killing array, rolled back into its human form after its bull head fell to the ground. However, its enormous spider body transformed into streams of black and red malevolent energy, plunging from all parts of the deck into the vast fog and disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Such a situation can only mean one thing: this parade of a hundred demons is about to begin. The reason is not complicated at all. The "wandering ghosts" that were previously wandering around are rushing back to their respective groups and preparing to take their places. This is clearly the chaotic scene before the start of a large-scale ceremony or ritual!
These "minor demons" in their respective positions are actually the "crowd" of a powerful demon awakening from hibernation, ready to make their grand entrance. Because demons are a special kind of being, the term "crowd" has taken on a broader meaning. It's not limited to "followers" but also extends to "avatars." For example, the Eight Demon Masks mentioned earlier as "Menreiki's" avatars. They each possess different hosts to receive nourishment before merging back into the main body to gain even greater demonic power.
These enormous spider bodies, broken into smaller parts and fleeing, might also be avatars of some great demon.
Having swiftly eliminated the giant bull-headed spider on the deck, Captain Yuko of the Fifth District ordered her second wife Qin Hong and fourth wife Xu Jingshan to remain on deck to guard against the 330-meter-long tail that had escaped. She herself, accompanied by her eldest wife Xing Xiaolu, went down to the cabin. The cabin, piled high with smuggled goods, was a typical multi-cabin structure of a Tang Dynasty ship, categorized and filled with various high-priced goods. In the center of the cargo hold, surrounded by high racks, were simply partitioned tatami rooms. In each narrow space of four and a half tatami mats, there was a beautiful woman, either sitting or reclining.
"Four and a half tatami mats" refers to 4.5 tatami mats laid flat. Based on the approximate standard of "Edo-ma" (the tatami size in the Kanto region, distinct from the "Kyo-ma" of the Kansai region), the total area is approximately 7.0–7.1 m² (1.55 m²/tatami mat). It is commonly used in the living room, tea room, or rented rooms of townspeople's residences. In the tea ceremony, four and a half tatami mats is the classic size for a "koma" (small tea room). Although small, the room fulfills the basic functions of sitting, lying down, and living. Below four and a half tatami mats, there are even smaller "sumi-be-ya" (corner rooms) with two or three tatami mats.
Needless to say, she is none other than the shrine maiden Aoga, the girl Suzu, the bird-chasing girl Asen, the fake saint Hira Mashima, the virgin Fujio, and the Hakone bride Akemi from the same time and space. The reason she is a half-body beauty is because her lower body is a colorful snake tail extending from the hem of her kimono.
"Be careful, they are also different incarnations of the same monster." Wu Chen had already seen through the truth: "'Wet Woman' is just the common appearance, 'Sea Princess' is the complete form."
"Could it also be a multi-headed monster?" Captain Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho, thought of the multi-headed snake demon that was a mutation of the Four Consorts of Hunyuan and the Demon King of Hunyuan.
"Hmm, it's hard to say." Wu Chen focused his attention on the beautiful corpse of the fake saintess Hiroshima, whose spine had been severed. Similar to Asahina Chisa, whose spine was also severed, the fake saintess Hiroshima also had elements of Catholicism imported from the south.
"Ah..." The familiar sigh began: "Hime, who has slain all the demons, what else do you want?"
“I’ve heard that ‘a merchant’s child wakes up to the sound of an abacus,’ and ‘even the judgments of hell are based on money.’” Captain Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho, replied with a well-known Edo proverb: “I only want a fair deal.”
"Ah..." Amidst sighs that clearly lessened hostility and vigilance, the shelf moved on its own, and the shrine maiden Aoga, the girl Suzu, the torii-chasing woman Asen, the naka-rai Fujio, and the Hakone bride Akemi, who were hiding in the four-and-a-half-tatami room, emerged from the cabin to meet each other, led by the fake saint Hiroshima.
Sure enough, this smuggling ship was also a grid-like structure.
As the shelves moved further away, the previously cramped four-and-a-half-tatami room expanded into a spacious and magnificent Japanese-style room. "Please sit," the fake saintess Hira Mashima invited everyone to sit as the hostess. According to the original plot, she was indeed a pawn of the wealthy Edo merchant Bizenya Tokuemon. It was only natural that she would inherit his smuggling ship.
"Thank you." Captain Yuko, the courtesan of the fifth district, dressed in a Nanban-style armor, thanked him and sat down on the small folding stool.
Turning her gaze away from the three Consorts of Hunyuan disguised as Kiyohime snake demons, the fake saintess Hiroshima smiled amiably: "Hime warrior who has slain all the demons, what do you wish to trade?"
Captain Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho, was already very familiar with similar scenarios: "What do you think this precious lotus can be traded for?"
When the radiant Seven Treasures Lotus made its appearance, everyone instinctively held their breath.
"People often say, 'When saury comes to market, masseuses lose their jobs.'" The fake saint, Hiroshima, suppressed her greed and, mimicking the head courtesan of Gobancho, Yuko, quoted an Edo proverb. This saying originally described the deliciousness of saury, its ability to stimulate appetite, and its relief from summer fatigue, eliminating the need for massages. Here, it clearly refers to the transaction itself.
As she spoke, the fake saintess Hiroshima rolled up her long tail and placed four large iron cannons on the table.
As the saying goes, "No matter how good your swordsmanship is, one spear can take you down."
The introduction of firearms to Japan was quite dramatic. In 1543, a merchant ship was caught in a storm and drifted to Tanegashima Island in southern Kyushu. On board were two large-nosed, fair-skinned, red-haired men, unlike any Japanese person they had ever seen before. Their names were transliterated as "Mura-shu-sha" and "Kiri-shita-tō-mō-tō." Upon learning of this, the then-lords of the Tanegashima Domain, Tanegashima Etoki and Tanegashima Tokiyo, met with two Portuguese men out of curiosity. The Portuguese gave Tanegashima Tokiyo a strange artifact: two firearms that, when lit, would shoot sparks and produce a loud bang.
Tanegashima Tokiyo, who paid 2000 taels of gold for this, immediately ordered the swordsmith Yasaka Kinbei to attempt to replicate this powerful new weapon, and also instructed his retainer Sasakawa Koshiro to research gunpowder synthesis methods. Local legend says that in order to learn the art of firearms manufacturing, Yasaka Kinbei married his daughter Wakasa to the Portuguese man Murasaki Susuke in exchange for the key secrets of firearms production, thus enabling the forging of the first firearm in Japanese history. Tanegashima thus became known as the birthplace of the Japanese firearm.
Subsequently, through the continuous promotion by merchants and southern barbarians, the Kishu Nekoshu and Omi Province Tomochishu groups became famous arquebus production groups during Japan's Sengoku period. Soon after, arquebuses were introduced to Owari Province, becoming a revolutionary new weapon for Oda Nobunaga's path to "unifying Japan by force."
Famous arquebuses of that time included: Awa Gun, Tohoku Gun, Hizen Gun, Tanegashima Gun, Kuniyoshi Gun, Kishu Gun, Sakai Gun, Yonezawa Gun, and Hino Gun.
The "large iron cannon," or large matchlock gun, which appeared during the Sengoku period, became popular in the Edo period and was collectively called "large cannon." In the Edo firearms classification, those that fired 10-mu (37.5 grams) ammunition were called medium-sized cannons, and those that fired 30-mu (112.5 grams) or more ammunition were called large cannons. They were loved by samurai at the time, and many famous works were produced. The first daimyo of the Saeki Domain, Mori Ise-no-kami Takamasa, owned four valuable large cannons: "Musō (281 cm in length)," "Shikai-ha (282 cm in length)," "Enma-ō (278 cm in length)," and "Aki-kaze (201 cm in length)."
At this moment, these four Mori-style guns were placed neatly in front of Captain Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho.
