Chapter 98 "I Killed Batman"
Chapter 98 "I Killed Batman"
Chapter 98 "I Killed Batman"
Boom!
The deafening roar reverberated throughout Bane's cochlea. He pulled the instrument out of Martha Wayne's stomach and looked at it, waiting quietly.
He huddled in the corner, in a corner big enough to hold his whole body.
He had anticipated that his clothes would be damaged in the battle, so he had stored many necessary tools inside Batman's mother's womb beforehand.
To ensure everything was in order, he waited for a very long time.
The instrument did not detect any signs of life at all.
We've waited long enough, and it seems that the facts are gradually becoming clear.
Bain's face was tense.
puff!
He let out a sneer.
He calmly twitched his upturned lips, bringing them back to their usual composure.
Oh my God. This isn't the effect of laughing gas.
puff!
Bain chuckled again, and then his lips gradually parted into a wide grin.
"I won!"
He spoke in a low voice in the empty Arkham Asylum, pacing back and forth in the polished corridors, waving his arm excitedly.
The strong, powerful fist squeezed the air, producing a soft, popping sound.
It's not easy.
Moonlight streamed into the building through the hole where Batman had just crashed through the ceiling.
What a magnificent scene, like something out of a fantasy story!
"I really won!"
His voice carried a sob that he himself was unaware of.
"I killed Batman—ho ho ho…I killed Batman!"
"No way."
Bain paused.
He turned his head and saw the Joker, barely regaining consciousness, roll over, facing the ceiling, panting heavily: "Batman will never be defeated by you, you piece of trash."
Bain's face darkened.
He walked up to the clown, grabbed him by the collar, and lifted him up.
"Are you blind? Can't you see this fact? I won, I killed Batman with my scheme!"
"Ridiculous. Hahaha, hahaha! Bane, I never expected you to have a talent for telling jokes."
The clown chuckled twice, then spat out two mouthfuls of bloody foam, mixed with some small pieces of blood.
"But that joke is so bad! Even I wouldn't tell it."
He was badly beaten by Batman and seriously injured.
"Batman will never lose."
"Are you an idiot—I took down Batman!"
"Batman can never be defeated," the Joker said. "Even though he's fallen, he wants to fall, he needs to fall. You're the fool."
He vomited another mouthful of blood: "Batman will defeat you."
Bain threw him into a corner: "You're just a loser who refuses to accept reality."
"And the fact is, I won, this city belongs to me!"
He ignored the clown lying in the corner vomiting blood, jumped directly from the hole in the ceiling onto the roof, and then, in a few steps, jumped to the highest point.
"I rule the night, there is no more Batman! I destroyed him, I rule the streets, I rule Gotham! I am vengeance, I am darkness, I am Bane—"
"I am the King of Gotham!"
Bain roared at the moon, announcing to the entire city:
"I am the King of Gotham!"
Ta-da.
His movements stopped.
Ta-da.
The sound looked like footsteps... the kind of synchronized footsteps.
Ta-da.
A claw emerged from behind the building, followed by more than a dozen companions who surged out like a tide.
Killer Croc swung its tail, leaped across the gaps between several buildings, and landed on all fours on a rooftop not far from it.
The Death Shooter, carrying a short-range flight backpack, hovered in mid-air like an astronaut leaping on the moon before landing gracefully on the building beside him.
The Cheshire Cat appeared silently beside them, while Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy each rode a giant vine monster, crawling down from the top of the building like two giant spiders.
Robin rode Firefly, followed by the emaciated Mr. Freeze, who limped along with his Freeze Gun, and then Man-Bat, Copperhead, Black Spider, and a whole host of Arkham villains who were still able to move.
These unruly Arkham villains are silent, yet a special force binds them together, bringing them to this place.
"It's you," Bain said. "You bunch of defeated wrestlers."
"How dare you show yourselves in front of me again?"
"This city has given us so much."
The penguin, leaning on his cane, used his two sharp claws to carry the obese man onto the roof.
He dusted himself off, his pointed black boots clattering on the roof tiles. The ventriloquist and the Five-Faced Man stood beside him, Arnold wielding two Thompson submachine guns.
"It's time to give back to her."
"Fellow Arkham warriors," the Penguin said, "today, in Batman's absence, right now, it's time for the villains to save the city!"
"madness!"
His voice was quickly met with an even louder roar from Bain:
Do you really know who I am?
Do you really understand me?
"I defeated Batman. Anyone can be defeated; it's not hard to do! But I've won. I beat him!"
He said:
"Since you're afraid of Batman... how dare you not be afraid of me?"
He conjured branches from half of his body and hurled them at the claws.
These branches explode as they pierce the claws' bodies, then take root and grow within them in just a few dozen seconds, eventually sprouting a beautiful flower.
But the Claws showed no fear. A chill swept towards Bane, and Mr. Freeze, holding his freeze gun, stood before Bane, who was surrounded by numerous claws.
He had been severely beaten by Bane; half of his arm was limp and hanging down.
He shot a cold blast of air at Bane with a blank expression.
"You're asking for it."
Bain stared at him intently as he spoke.
"You will all die."
"Batman's death is just the beginning of many deaths."
"You, Killer Crocodile, Death Shooter, Ventriloquist."
"I'm going to kill you all."
Bain's gaze swept over everyone standing opposite him: "After I kill you all, I'm going to kill that butler and Robin right away."
He said:
"I will hang you all. I will gently pull on your feet until I can hear a pleasant cracking sound from your necks..."
He declared, "You cannot stop me, no one can stop me anymore. My victory is an undeniable fact."
"When Gotham bows at my feet, I will stand atop one of those gargoyles and look down upon those poor citizens."
His voice was like a tsunami, a landslide, and every natural disaster imaginable: "They all looked up at the sky, waiting for the traffic lights to come on, praying to see that light, praying that Batman would save them, but... all they saw was me."
"Only Bain."
"And I am Bane!!!"
"Okay, okay. I know you're Bane, I know that perfectly well."
Then Bain heard a voice behind his head. A voice that made him tremble and his whole body shake.
"But I think you've forgotten..."
"I am Batman!"
I did it! I successfully released the extra chapter! I kept my promise, I'm so amazing, waaaaah!
