Chapter 99 King vs. King
Chapter 99 King vs. King
Chapter 99 King vs. King
Bain often felt like he was shouting in a deserted wilderness.
The hazy mist gathered into waves and oceans, swirling and rolling in the pitch-black night.
His life was like an isolated island in the ocean.
He ran, he jumped, he flew, he struggled through the vortex of clouds and rain, hoping to catch a ray of light.
But everything returned to silence.
He felt like he was falling.
Just like...
At that time, at this moment.
Intense rage.
Plants exploded back up from half of his body, his muscles withered, decayed, and dried up, drained of their life force by the plants within seconds. But in the next second, pumped by the venom, his muscles instantly regenerated, swelling, twisting, and becoming even more powerful than before.
"Little Red, can't you control the green on his body?"
Harley whispered to Poison Ivy, "This way I can't cast spells on him."
Poison Ivy automatically understood her ramblings: "I don't know, but I'm afraid not. These plants have undergone some kind of mutation that I don't quite understand; they no longer seem like plants... but rather like part of a living person."
She said somewhat hesitantly, "It's part of an unstable chain reaction. In fact, I don't think Bain uses these plants in the same way I've controlled them before—but anyway, it's obvious."
Poison Ivy said, "He has transformed himself into a male witch."
"Strictly speaking, he can already be considered a mage. In terms of the application of elemental power, he can even..."
Before she could finish speaking, she saw the plants curl up and bind to Bane's body, then wrap around his flesh like muscle fibers, turning into the texture of wood.
Then, in the next second, his arm lashed out to the side like an elongated nine-section whip, and half of the building collapsed like building blocks with a deafening roar. Bane's furious roar shook the heavens and the earth.
"Batman—look me in the eye!!!"
"A male wizard, but his primary attack method is still his fists."
Harley said.
"whee!"
Bane heard Batman chuckle, a contemptuous, undisguised flippancy.
His furious counterattack, his twisting, outstretched fist carrying unparalleled strength, only struck empty air.
Bain was furious, relentlessly furious. He was rationally controlling his rage; half of his body was responding to him, his arm seemed to have grown a little longer, but definitely not thinner.
In the midst of his ever-growing rage, his punches became increasingly graceful, more like fluttering ribbons than straight attacks, seemingly devoid of any lethality.
But the broken bricks and the ground, cracked like tofu by his whip-like arm, served as a constant reminder to everyone:
This is definitely not a lover's touch.
Harley Quinn commented, "It's like whipping someone's ass in a sex game—"
Poison Ivy skillfully tied her up like a dumpling.
Deadshot raised his shockwave weapon and aimed it at Bane, who was still attacking the unseen Batman. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, he saw Mr. Freeze hold the freeze gun in front of him.
"What do you mean?"
he asks.
"Shh!"
Mr. Freeze said, "Quiet down, Sharpshooter. Don't interrupt their fight. Haven't you noticed the Claws have already retreated?"
"I know."
Deadshot replied, "But I think it's just because they're not qualified for close combat. Don't worry, I'm very confident that even if the two of them were locked in combat, I wouldn't miss."
Then Deathshot saw that the people of Arkham, except for the mud-faced man who was cosplaying as Robin, were all looking at him indifferently.
"What? What's wrong with you guys? What do you mean?"
"I think..."
Poison Ivy said, as a vine rose from the ground beside her and wove into a chair. She first hung Harley Quinn, who was bound like a muffled dumpling and whimpering, on the chair, and then sat down herself.
"You'd better not get involved."
Deathshooter was about to say something when a hand landed on his shoulder.
"We've been working together for a while now, Freud."
The ventriloquist stood behind him, the old man hunched over, but he didn't look at him at all.
"I heard you were born in Gotham, but you've spent most of your time outside of Gotham, so you might not understand things here. Let us explain it to you."
He said with some intonation:
"Don't get involved in their fight."
His glasses reflected Bain, who was still clenching his fist.
"after all……"
"This is a king versus king match, isn't it?"
Mr. Freeze continued, snapping his arm back together with a sharp, expressionless motion.
"What kind of nonsense is this?"
Deadshot said, "Did Batman hire us just to stand on the sidelines and cheer us on?"
He turned to the Cheshire Cat: "Shouldn't we give the bats some ranged support?"
The Cheshire Cat hesitated before saying, "I think so too..."
"You think so too, right, Killer Croc?" Death Shooter turned to Killer Croc and said, "What the hell are these things? King against king, it's too much..."
"No."
The seemingly money-grubbing Killer Croc said to Deathshooter, "You should let Batman fight one-on-one. It's incredibly disrespectful to have outsiders interfere."
The Death Shooter fell silent.
For the first time, he looked at his teammates standing with them with such seriousness.
He had assumed that someone as money-loving as Killer Croc would agree with him, but he was wrong.
Then, in an instant, he suddenly realized the true nature of these people, as if struck by a divine inspiration.
In the moonlight, he saw the shadows of the Arkhams stretched out, projecting distorted, crawling beast-like shapes onto the ground.
This isn't a group of people; it's clearly a pack of wild beasts.
A group of ferocious beasts practicing the law of the jungle in modern society!
Thus, the Death Shooter realized:
These are truly a bunch of lunatics; he hadn't even realized it before. He'd been hanging out with them for far too long, making money alongside them, being bribed, coerced, and watching them get "trained."
He always felt that once they shed their veil of mystery, they were just ordinary people like himself.
However, he was wrong. Completely wrong.
So he lowered the muzzle of his gun and muttered to himself, "What kind of monsters have you become, Batman?"
He muttered to himself, "He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."
He whispered, watching the rapidly flashing black shadow: "You horrible dragon."
"You evil dragon!"
The righteous warrior Bane roared, "Come out! Face me! Why don't you dare—"
Then his movements stopped a second later.
He saw black mist rising in front of him, and then a giant dragon appeared right before him.
Its lower body is a cloud of black mist with a few rubber tires vaguely visible in it, while its upper body is a green, ferocious dinosaur's giant mouth.
The venom tube was attached to the top of his head.
Dinosaur claws, adorned with car parts, extend out, and black mist spreads from his back like outstretched wings.
He heard that deep, hoarse voice say:
"I have come as summoned."
So now it is... warrior... to challenge the evil dragon!
Waaaaah, thank you so much, Great Evil God on Horseback, for the generous gift!
